SAM Board Visit

This past week the Sunbeam Board was at here for their Annual Review Board meeting. This meant some meetings and a report for me to write. It was fun to stop and look at the progress my students are making. You don't need all of the details, however these numbers are some that I'm most proud of.

* Student 1 started out reading only 8 words. He is now able to read 36.
* Student 2 started out reading 18 words and is now up to 82.
* Student 3 started out at 31 words and it at 80 now.

All of these students are 10 and have been in school with me for less than 30 days. They get excited each time we check to see their progress. It's encouraging to me that they continue to steadily climb.

In addition to the SAM Board, there was a group of people who came to be part of a work team. They were determined to make some good progress on the twin home, which will be my house when it's done. The work team was out working at 6 am most mornings. Plus, they did wonderful things for me like fix my shower so it drains, install a new door in my classroom so that it's secure, run a new line of electricity into my classroom so my computer will work, and much more.



I was impressed to know that 6 of the 10 team members were retirement age. I watched them covered with dust and dirt, soaked to the bone with sweat building a place for me to live. What incredible role models of Christ like lives!
